Frequently Asked Questions

Free Play Sessions

Trouble with Scheduling

White slots indicate an available time. Create an account with your email and you will be good to go. Gray indicates unavailable and slots that are already booked appear with their times on the page. Contact nnotto@pinhighpgh.com or text/call 716-860-3717 if trouble persists and we will work with you to schedule if needed.

How does a Free Play Session work?
Think of it like booking a tee time without the walk, the weather, or the foursome in front of you looking for their ball. You reserve a private bay by the hour, show up with your clubs, pick a course or the range, and go. Pricing is per bay, not per person, so you can come solo and be selfish or bring a group and pretend you’re sharing.

How many people can play in a bay at once?
Up to four golfers per bay is the sweet spot. More than that and it turns into a support group instead of a round of golf. Four gives everyone swings, trash talk, and enough time to finish.

How long should I book for?
Very scientific answer: it depends. Rough guide:

  • Solo practice: 60 minutes if you’re focused, 90 if you like to overanalyze.

  • Two golfers: 90 minutes is usually fine for 18.

  • Three–four golfers: plan on 2 hours so you’re not speed-running every putt.

If you’re unsure, book a little extra and enjoy not sprinting through the last three holes.

Membership

Do I need a membership to play here?
No. You can book Free Play Sessions whenever you want and pay as you go. A membership is for people who know they’ll be here a lot and would like their bank account to suffer slightly less in the process.

What’s the real difference between Free Play and an Exclusive Membership?
Free Play is: “I’ll book when I feel like it and hope there’s a spot.”
Membership is: “I know I’m playing every week, I’d like cheaper hours, and I’d prefer not to fight everyone else for prime times.” Members get included hours each month, discounted rates on extra time, and earlier booking windows. If you play more than your clubs see daylight now, membership usually wins.

Can I share a membership with my buddy?
Memberships are set up for a primary member, not a committee. You’re welcome to bring friends to play on your time, but the account, billing, and perks stay under one name. If your buddy wants the benefits too, they’re welcome to join the club instead of just your snack bill.

Leagues & Competition

How does League Play work?
Leagues run in defined seasons, usually fall and winter when Pittsburgh reminds you it hates golf. You (or your team) book a bay once a week during the league window, play your round, and submit your scores. Formats change—teams, individual, handicapped—but the idea is simple: regular, structured golf with enough accountability that you actually show up.

Do I have to be a member to join a league?
No. Leagues are open to members and non-members. Members may get first dibs or better pricing, but we’re not gatekeeping the fun. That said, spots can fill quickly, so being on the email list or having a membership doesn’t exactly hurt your chances.

Logistics & Access

How does nearly 24/7 access actually work?
After you book, you’ll get an email with your secure entry instructions and bay details. During your reserved time, you unlock the door, walk in like you own the place (you don’t, but it’s fine), and head straight to your bay. The space is monitored and access is limited to booked players, so you’re not wandering into a random free-for-all.

What should I bring and what should I wear?
Bring your own clubs, a glove, and whatever you’d normally wear to play golf or practice without a dress code. Non-metal golf shoes or clean sneakers are perfect. We provide the balls, the tech, and the space. You provide the swings and the excuses.

Do you serve food or alcohol?
Nope. We’re a performance-focused indoor golf space, not a bar disguised as a driving range. You’re welcome to bring your own non alcoholic drink or a snack as long as it doesn’t try to move in permanently and you keep the bays clean.

What’s your cancellation policy?
Short version: if you know you can’t make it, cancel as early as you can. There’s a standard window (shown during booking) where you can reschedule or cancel without a penalty. Inside that window, you may be charged. We get that life happens, we just ask that you don’t wait until your tee time has already started to remember you “forgot.”r booking as soon as you can.
